Life at Our Community PDF Print E-mail

In dramatic contrast to many residential facilities, at McKinley, residents enjoy a wealth of conveniences, social and recreational activities, lifestyle features and amenities, including spacious, comfortable rooms, restaurant-style dining, beautiful décor, and cable television service, to name just a few.

What is the McKinley Court lifestyle like?

We try to provide all our residents a social and active environment.  We are able to do this by:

  • celebrating birthdays and throwing holiday parties
  • playing BINGO
  • singing karoake
  • playing Wii bowling
  • arts and crafts
  • having movie nights with popcorn
  • playing board games
  • having outdoor parties
  • telling stories
  • playing charades
  • grilling out for lunch and dinner

We have our "Have it Your Way Concierge Program"

Residents have a meal-of-the-month where residents get to choose what they want to eat for either lunch or dinner.  Sometimes they request to grill out for steak, chicken, hamburgers, brauts, or hot dogs and other times they choose to have pasta or soup. The residents get to vote collectively on a meal of their choosing.

Discharge parties are once a month where residents who have graduated our orthopedic rehab program are invited back into our facility to have lunch on us.

Does the decor change seasonally?

Yes, we change our decor as the seasons change.  We also change the decor during July and for events such as Pink during October for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

We are currently remodeling our Orthopedic and Stroke Unit to better fit the needs of the individuals who enter our facility for short term rehab.
